Firstly, a deposit to build a new home is less than an established home. Instead of the standard 20% home deposit, there are banks that will lend with only a 5% deposit if you are building.
Secondly, there are incentives to help people who either have a small deposit or are on low-middle incomes. This includes the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme for people with a 5% deposit and Keystart that requires only a 2% deposit.

For example, internal painting and rear landscaping are already done for you. This is a popular option for home buyers who either aren’t DIY-handy or don’t want the hassle of organising other items.
