There are new schools and shops in Southern River

Here at Move Homes, we get a lot of enquiry for Southern River. One of the land estates we like in this southern suburb is the masterplanned Bletchley Park.

Since it first began in 2006, Bletchley Park has flourished into a family friendly community. There are two primary schools in the estate and several secondary colleges are only walking distance. The new Southern River Square shopping centre is just across the road and includes a Coles and other specialty shops.

What makes Bletchley Park standout from surrounding estates is the central lake. This waterway is the perfect place for a family picnic, with walking and cycle trails running throughout the estate. So bring a picnic blanket and some snacks and see why over 1,000 people have moved to Bletchley Park.

After 17 years of development, Bletchley Park has everything a family needs. There are two primary schools that you can walk the kids to- Bletchley Park and Southern Grove Primary Schools. Across the road is the new Southern River Square, Huntingdale Community Centre and Leopold Park which is popular for weekend sports. Plus, there’s plenty of nature including the central lake and playgrounds scattered throughout the estate.

Just Down The Road

Within 15 minutes you will find yourself at Cockburn ARC, Champion Lakes Regatta, Forrestdale Lake, or one of the many million dollar parks in new estates. There are also many places of worship such as the Perth Hindu Temple, Masjid Ibrahim mosque and Southern River Church of Christ. Plus, you have Forrestdale Business Park, Canning Vale and Maddington which each have plenty of local jobs so you spend less time driving to work.

The Big Picture

While land sales in Bletchley Park are nearing the end, there’s plenty more development in Southern River! There are plans to transform the area into an even bigger community over the coming decades as Perth’s population continues to grow. In fact, Southern River’s population is expected to grow from 15,731 residents in 2023, to 29,203 residents in 2036. That’s an 85% increase!
