Stretching from Perth down to Mandurah and Pinjarra, living south of the river gives you everything you need! There are bustling precincts at Fremantle, Rockingham and Mandurah that capitalise on the stunning foreshore. There’s the Darling Scarp on one side, the beach on the other, and plenty of attractions like Adventure World, Cockburn ARC and Perth Aqua Park in the middle. Plus, it’s more affordable than the north so check out our house and land packages in Perth’s southern suburbs below!
Hit the Books
There are 5 university campuses in the south from Curtin, Murdoch and Notre Dame (including specialised campuses at Rockingham and Mandurah).
New jobs will be created at Forrestdale (15,000 new jobs) and Latitude 32 (10,000 new jobs), plus future industrial development of Nambeelup, West Pinjarra, and North Baldivis.
Beach or Hills?
On one side you’ve got beaches like Bathers, Coogee, Warnbro and Golden Bay (plus more!). But on the other side there’s Lesmurdie, Araluen, Jarrahdale and Wungong in the hills.
Perth has undergone a huge residential development since the 2000s! There’s been new suburbs and masterplanned estates to grow for Perth’s growing population, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing left in the older suburbs. In fact, many of the infill suburbs have either vacant blocks or small, boutique subdivisions. So if you’re after house and land packages close to Perth City or Fremantle, check out these suburbs!
The Darling Scarp is a Western Australian icon. Spend a day hiking along the many bush paths and you’ll see why house and land packages in the hills are in high demand. There are plenty of suburbs that lie at the bottom of the hills so while they benefit from a stunning view, they’re also close to major road networks, train stations, shopping centres and all the modern conveniences your family needs.
The train line already expands from Perth down to Mandurah, and it’s only going to grow! Thanks to Metronet, there’s a new line servicing Canning Vale, Lynwood and Thornlie, plus the extension to Byford. Throw in the new Lakelands train station and Karnup (hooray for Singleton and Golden Bay residents!), and there’s plenty of places with train connectivity.
