Move Homes has over 70 home designs, and out of those we have 22 designs that cater for the narrower blocks. A common misconception about narrow blocks is that you can’t fit much on the block or you need a small design. But you’ll be surprised! In fact, there are endless possibilities narrow blocks can hold for designing! You can opt for either 3 or 4 bedrooms and still have a theatre, walk-in-pantry and more.
10m Wide Home Designs
Our 10m wide designs are popular for First Home Buyers who want an affordable block, but also room to grow. It is common for the depth to be between 25m to 30m, which is why we have many designs. In fact, some of our homes have a Theatre, Walk-in-Linen and a fourth bedroom!
The Under 10s
You are likely to find blocks under 10m wide that are close to train stations, opposite parks, or within a strata complex. These homes are ideal for couples and downsizers that don’t want 4 bedrooms or a big outdoor area. And as there are more 1 or 2 person households, these homes make for affordable packages (especially if you’re looking close to Perth CBD!).
Frequently Asked Questions for Narrow Home Designs
What are the benefits of building a narrow home?
Most buyers choose a narrow home design because the land price is cheaper. But, the other benefit is that narrow blocks are usually found in high-demand areas. For example, close to train stations and overlooking parks are common locations.
How do I create more space in my home?
One of our top tips is to incorporate storage into your home. For example, extend the laundry bench and add in kitchen drawers and overhead cupboards. Plus, high ceilings and using light colours also creates a more spacious feel to your home. You can check out our Handy Home Hints blog post for more ideas!
Where will my garage be?
If you are looking at a cottage block, it is likely that you will have a double garage located at the back of your home. But, if your garage is located at the front, it will depend on your frontage. Most 10m blocks will fit a double garage, but a 6m width will only fit a single garage.
