Your Pre-Start Meeting is one of the most exciting times in your build journey! It’s when you pick the colours and materials that will make your home truly yours. Meetings are held in the Selection Centre at our Malaga office with your Pre-Start consultant, so you can get guidance if you want.
We want this to be an enjoyable experience, so there are a few things that will happen before we conduct in your Pre-Start Meeting.
- Your Build Contract must be signed and your Working Drawings completed. This document includes a sketch of your home, plus more pages on room dimensions, elevations, kitchen and bathroom layouts, and your electrical plan. It’s important we have this information in your Pre-Start Meeting.
- Your finance is approved. The reason we wait until finance approval is so you have certainty from the bank that your home will proceed. You’ll also know how much you can spend at pre-start, and this peace of mind helps with your decisions.
- Your Pre-Start Portal has been completed. We’ve recently launched an online system so you can pick your colours, items and upgrades before you come in for your Pre-Start. Don’t worry, you still have your face-to-face meeting with our consultant! Our team will provide you with access to the portal when we are ready.

- Walk through your current house and take note of what you like and what you don’t
- Make sure your furniture fits your new home (check your fridge width!)
- Write a list of any questions you think of
- Create a Pinterest board of style inspiration
- Take note of the windows sizes and styles on your plan because you can’t change them after your Pre-Start Meeting

FAQs about Pre-Starts
When will my Pre-Start happen?
Our Pre-Start consultant will organise your Pre-Start Meeting once your Build Contract is signed, Working Drawings are ready, and preferably when your finance has been approved. That way, you know exactly how much you can budget for during your Pre-Start.
What happens at my Pre-Start Meeting?
We will send you a link to our online Pre-Start Portal so you can start selecting your items before your meeting. What way, when you have your face-to-face with our team, you’ll already have an idea of what you want and the cost of any upgrades.
We will walk you through our Selection Centre, starting with the externals and then the internals. We will create a list of your selections and any items you would like costed.
Do I go anywhere else for my Pre-Start?
We ask our clients to visit Crosby Tiles before their Pre-Start at our office. This is so you can chat directly with the experts and can see the huge range of products available.
What happens after Pre-Start?
If you have requested any upgrades, we will get them costed for you from our Estimating department. Your variation will be sent through for your approval once the pricing is confirmed. Don’t worry, you can remove items from your variation! After that, we can easily update your house plans to show your final selections.
What if I can't remember what I chose?
We will send you through your Final Pack before we start construction. This includes your Working Drawings that show all your upgrades to your house design. Also included is the addenda which lists every colour and material in your home, such as the kitchen sink to the carpets.
